Volunteers have been a steady force in VSMS’ service to seniors in the past 60 years. As a volunteer, you have an opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of low-income seniors living in Vancouver’s urban core. Not only will you have a chance to change the lives of one or more low-income seniors, but you’ll have a chance to meet fun, like-minded people and gain valuable work experience. Interested? We would love to have you join us.
Here are the volunteer opportunities we currently have:
ESL Tutor. Help seniors develop their English language skills so that they can express themselves better.
Technology Assistant. Teach seniors how to use their smartphones or computers and this way, they can navigate the world around them more effectively
Driver. Drive seniors to medical appointments and field trips. Must have a Valid BC Driver’s License.
Photographer. Take photos of our seniors, staff, and volunteers.
Event Organizer. Help coordinate fundraising and outreach events to help bring more support and attention to VSMS.
Writer. Contribute to the VSMS blog by writing articles for our blog and newsletter.
Create-Your-Own Role. Do you see a need that's not listed? If so, let us know how you can help.
If any of the above roles interest you, please send a short email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know why you are interested in a role and how you’re qualified for it.
